I was born in London and spent my childhood living in Highams Park. During the 70’s my parents along with many others made a life changing decision to emigrate to South Africa. The following 12 years spent living in Durban had a profound influence on my development and values as both an individual and an artist. This new world was so different, with no TV, no radio (not much to speak of apart from the World Service) but within a splendidly pristine environment, and most importantly, within walking distance of the sea. Life there and then was all about the great outdoors, the light, colour of wild Africa and the splendour of the ocean, all of which were monumental in my development as an artist.
I returned to England in the 80’s and came to settle in Melton Mowbray where I have my studio.
